Undergraduate Student TA and LA Orientation

The TA and LA Orientation is mandated for all first-time undergraduate and submatriculant Teaching Assistants (TAs) and Learning Assistants (LAs) for the School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) and the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS).

CETLI offers an additional training for TAs and LAs in a SAIL classroom. Visit the SAIL TA Training page for more details.

TA and LA Orientation

This comprehensive program, comprising asynchronous modules on Canvas and a mandatory synchronous training session, equips participants with essential knowledge, resources, and skills for success in their positions. Participants will engage in real-world scenarios, explore grading intricacies, and navigate potential teaching challenges. Active participation in all components is required for program fulfillment.

Registration is currently closed. Registration for the next orientation will begin in January 2025. If you have any questions, please email CETLI.

Schedule

CETLI offers these orientations at the beginning of both the fall and spring semester. In the registration form, new TAs and LAs will be prompted to select one synchronous orientation session from a list of options. After new TAs and LAs have completed their registration, CETLI staff will invite participants to a Canvas site with modules to complete prior to their synchronous orientation session.
