The Online Learning Platform (the Platform) serves as a conduit for growth in Penn’s online non-credit space and amplifies the university’s online credit bearing offerings. Penn’s 12 schools utilize services and support related to the Platform for a range of functions from branded listings to UX/UI design through application management and payment processing.

Penn Online Learning Platform Impact

The Platform provides staff and administrative teams from Penn’s 12 schools with the technological infrastructure to manage online learning offerings. Since launching in 2020, the Platform has:

  • Amplified over 300 individual offerings from all 12 Penn schools.
  • Enabled over 12,600 global learners to access to Open Canvas for Penn Learners.
  • Provided various levels of application management support for 60 programs from eight Penn schools.
  • Managed up to six application cycles from two Penn schools.

Technical Support and Service Options for Penn Schools

The Digital Strategies team supports online program staff from ideation to launch and beyond. Online learning experiences featured in the Platform's course catalog include Penn-hosted non-credit offerings, degrees, and certificates, as well as MOOCs hosted by Coursera and edX. For offerings using the Platform for application management and payment collection, the team reviews the learner journey to access, enroll, and pay for online offerings. They connect partners with CETLI’s Marketing team for strategic marketing planning and execution support.

All schools can list their online offerings on the site free of charge.
