CETLI has established the inaugural Advisory Group, which will give instructors from across the university the opportunity to share their insights on teaching and will enrich CETLI’s connection with faculty needs related to teaching considerations at Penn. The group will be a sounding board for CETLI’s faculty programming development and will discuss emerging issues around educational technology, online learning and innovation in education. This dialogue will enable the group members to serve as CETLI ambassadors, creating open lines of communication and active outreach throughout the teaching community at Penn.
The group includes at least one representative from each school, with faculty at various ranks as well as non-tenure track faculty. “The aim,” CETLI’s Executive Director, Bruce Lenthall says, “is to have a wide range of perspectives on the group, all of whom care about teaching.”
Julia Lynch, CETLI’s Faculty Co-Director, who reached out to the nominees, said she was overwhelmed by how positive the response was: “Not only did almost everyone say yes; they did so enthusiastically, and often with a note about how important CETLI's programming had been to them during their time at Penn. It was gratifying to see how much good will there was toward CETLI, and how eager folks were to give back in the form of serving on our advisory group.”
