Teaching in the Age of AI: STEM

Facilitator: Rachel Jones, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Generative AI is transforming the way students learn, solve problems, and approach coursework bringing both exciting possibilities and new challenges to STEM education. As TAs, you are on the front lines of this evolving landscape. This interactive workshop will explore how AI is changing the skills students develop, how it impacts teaching and learning, and how TAs can set clear expectations for student use while encouraging meaningful engagement. Through discussion and hands-on activities, participants will explore practical strategies for navigating AI use in their courses and supporting students in becoming thoughtful, creative, and independent learners.
