Encouraging and Assessing Student Participation

Facilitator: Ana Maria Nunez, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Classical Studies

Participation can be a measure of a student’s engagement, comprehension, and enthusiasm for a subject, but these qualities can also be difficult to define and assess. Through several activities, this interactive workshop will explore the definition of student participation and discuss several tools and classroom strategies for managing and motivating student participation. Participants will leave with an understanding of how to define and customize their approach to participation for future classes.
