Preparing Students for Exams in STEM Fields
Facilitator: A.J. Geers, CETLI Fellow, Electrical & Systems Engineering
STEM exams require critical thinking, adaptability, and intuition. When it comes time for an exam, students may feel the need to make up for lost time by cramming, emphasizing memorization over long-term learning. But STEM exam skills are developed from repeated, deliberate practice over time. In this workshop, you will discover techniques to help your students practice throughout the semester. We will also provide tips for creating a productive review session and discuss how to utilize practice exams to encourage deep learning.
