Making Lectures More Interactive

Convener: Santiago Paternain, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Electrical and Systems Engineering

As instructors, we all fear losing our students’ attention, especially early in the lesson. This is reinforced in large groups, where it is easier for students to feel at a distance (literally) and not involved in the lecture. How can we make our lectures more interactive, to foster greater students engagement and learning? In this workshop, we’ll consider a number of techniques applicable across the disciplines and a variety of types of classroom.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
