Using Graduate Research for Teaching

Facilitator: Drs. Catherine Sirois, Sociology; and Olivia Hu, Postdoctoral Fellow, Race, Science, and Society
Convener: Rehana Odendaal, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Education, Culture and Society & Sociology

As early career academics, incorporating your own research into the courses you teach is a key part of developing your academic persona. Join us for a panel discussion featuring Assistant Professor Catherine Sirois and recent Penn doctoral graduate Olivia Hu. We will discuss different examples of how a course might draw on your research, experiences with connecting graduate research and potential teaching roles while on the job market, and a Q&A session.

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Graduate School of Education, and so may be most useful to students in related fields.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
