Teaching Non-majors in STEM
Facilitator: Emma Kocik, CETLI Fellow, Earth & Environmental Studies
Teaching non-majors is always a challenge, but STEM classes present a uniquely difficult set of hurdles. How do we motivate students who are nonmajors while making sure all students feel engaged, supported, and challenged? In this workshop, we will explore how to find that balance for your students. You will leave this workshop with practical strategies for working with non-majors so that even students taking your class “just for credit” may leave your class with a new perspective on STEM and its relevance to their own personal or academic interests.
