An Interdisciplinary Approach to Teaching

Facilitator: Mark Lewis, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Education and Danielle Hanley, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Political Science
Convener: Professors Sigal Ben-Porat, Education with secondary appt. in Political Science and Rogers Smith, Political Science with seconary appt. in Education

In interdisciplinary courses, an instructor’s experience, students’ interests and backgrounds, and the goals of the course may all overlap in unpredictable ways. How can these courses successfully meet the needs of all students? This workshop addresses the teaching challenges of interdisciplinary courses and classrooms.

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Education and Political Science departments and so may be most useful to students in related fields.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
