Building Community in the Classroom

Facilitator: Jonathan Dick, CETLI Fellow, English

Why should we want to develop community in our classrooms, and how do we go about establishing it in courses both large and small? This workshop for new teachers and TAs will discuss the importance of community for undergraduate teaching, with special focus on building community between peers. Participants will draw on their own experiences as learners to collectively identify useful community-building techniques for planning and teaching undergraduate courses.
