The Unseen Elements of Teaching: A Course Design Workshop

Facilitator: Krishan Canzius, CETLI Fellow, Mathematics; and Shafagh Keyvanian, CETLI Fellow, Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics

Designing your own courses is an essential part of a career in academia. This workshop will explore the critical elements of course design. In particular, participants will reflect on common characteristics of well-designed courses and envision a syllabus for a course they would like to teach. Key considerations will include defining the course goals, structuring course timelines, and finding methods for assessment.
