We don’t know what the impact of this extraordinarily fraught election will be, but we do know that it has the potential to disrupt life in the United States, and experiences in our classes, in significant ways. This conversation will bring faculty together to discuss what this election means for our teaching and our students, and how we are dealing with that. This could mean talking about: how we talk with upset students; how we engage students who may have concerns for their acceptance and safety; how we handle politics and divergent views in our classrooms; how we address emotion in the classroom; and faculty concerns about how we personally are received in this moment. The focus of the discussion is open, however, for participants to define as most useful for them in light of the situation after the election.
