Intentional course design establishes the tone for a class and sets students up for success. Innovative approaches, including global perspectives, object-based teaching, and thematic schemas, offer the opportunity to reach students from different disciplines and to speak to a variety of learning strengths and interests. In this workshop, we will discuss the considerations that shape course design, how to think about traditional classes in creative and unexpected ways, and strategies to employ and talk about course design on the job market.
All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the History department and so may be most useful to students in related fields.
