Why Co-Teaching Matters?: Collaboration and Balance on a Teaching Team

Facilitator: Drs. Nelanthi Hewa, Postdoctoral Fellow, Center for Collaborative Communication; and Ennuri Jo, Postdoctoral Fellow, Center for Advanced Research for Global Communication
Convener: Taylor Leigh Smith, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Communication

Co-teaching is more than just a teaching strategy; it is a fundamental teaching principle. With this workshop, Drs. Nelanthi Hewa, a postdoctoral fellow for the Annenberg Center for Collaborative Communication, and Ennuri Jo, a postdoctoral fellow for the Center for Advanced Research for Global Communication, lead a discussion on the importance of co-teaching and its benefits for student learning. More specifically, they will discuss how its implementation aids in crafting an inclusive and accessible classroom, and offer tips on actualizing this in the classroom.

This event grows out of concerns in the Communication department and may be most helpful to students in related fields, but all graduate students are welcome.
