Teaching Through Grading and Feedback in a Time-Efficient Way
Facilitator: Max Cohen, CETLI Fellow, Physics & Astronomy
Learning is often most effective when feedback is specific, timely, and allows students to see areas for improvement as well as personal strengths. Such feedback can be a rich form of communication between instructor and student. However, instructors also have limited time to generate this feedback. In this workshop, we will discuss effective ways to provide meaningful feedback, whether grading a problem set, commenting on written work, or in-person discussions. We will also explore strategies and tools for providing the most productive feedback in a timeframe that best facilitates student improvement.
