SUMMARY:Teaching Interdisciplinary Courses: Reflections from an Early-Career Instructor
DESCRIPTION:Teaching interdisciplinary courses can be exciting\, messy\, and deeply rewarding\, especially early in an academic career. In this workshop\, I will share reflections from my own experience designing and teaching interdisciplinary courses\, including challenges I did not anticipate\, strategies that helped\, and lessons learned along the way. The session will be discussion-driven and focused on practical takeaways for navigating disciplinary boundaries\, student expectations\, and course design in interdisciplinary settings. \nAll graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Bioengineering department\, and so may be most useful to students in related fields. \nCounts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
