Many Modes: The Evolution of Teaching with Dr. Juan Llamas-Rodriguez

Facilitator: Dr. Juan Llamas-Rodriguez, Communication
Convener: Taylor Leigh Smith, CETLI Graduate Fellow, Communication

This workshop, “Many Modes,” invites participants to dialogue with Dr. Juan Llamas-Rodriguez, Assistant Professor of Communication, on his teaching evolution from a teaching assistant during his graduate tenure at Concordia University and the University of California, Santa Barbara to his time as a professor at the University of Texas at Dallas and now at the University of Pennsylvania. Lauded for his creative scholarship and instructing style, this conversation will specifically focus on Llamas-Rodriguez’s transition from teaching assistant to instructor of record and how he developed his rigorous and dedicated implementation of multimodality in the classroom.

All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Communication department, and so may be most useful to students in related fields.

Counts toward the CETLI Teaching Certificate.
