This workshop introduces the core concepts of Structured Active In-Class Learning (SAIL) and explores strategies for creating student-centered classroom environments. The facilitator and participants will discuss practical ways to encourage active participation, promote independent critical thinking, and foster collaboration during class time. The session will also include tips on effectively communicating course goals to students, both in SAIL settings and college classes more broadly. Attendees will leave with ideas for designing interactive activities and building a more engaging and motivating learning atmosphere for undergraduates.
All graduate students are welcome. This event grows out of concerns in the Bioengineering department, and so may be most useful to students in related fields.
